What is a residence permit for digital nomads in Hungary
The digital nomad visa, or white card, is provided for remote workers who plan to live in the state for up to 1 year (with the possibility of a one-time extension for a similar period). It was introduced in 2021 to attract professionals earning outside the state. Monthly income to participate in the programme must start from €3,000.
The white card is not suitable for foreigners wishing to move with their family, as only the main applicant can qualify. Also, this option will not allow residents to be officially employed in the state, apply for permanent residence or citizenship.
