Location

Kokkino Chorio is a scenic small village in the area of Apokoronas, situated 4 km away from the beachside resort of Almyrida and about 40 minutes away from the city of Chania. It is one of the settlements of Apokoronas that have kept most of the authentic elements of Cretan rural areas. Small stone built houses of late 19th and early 20th century, a main square with cute small kafeneia and tavernas with traditional food, and in the past 20 years newly built, traditional-style villas in tune with the whole environment. The proximity to the sea and natural beauty has made this small village a favorite of both locals and foreigners for both their main residences and holiday homes. The towering mountain to the south of the village and its lush green countryside create a natural environment of rear beauty. All the sandy beaches of Apokoronas like Kalyves, Almyrida, Georgioupoli are less than 15 minutes away. Overall a great place to live in Western Crete.
