Stavromenos is a seaside village in the eastern part of the bay of Rethymnon on the island of Crete, just 10 kms away from the centre of the town. The new national road from Rethymnon to iraklion runs between the village and the beach. The village itself spreads along the old national road over a distance of roughly 2 kms. The village has got all kind of amenities and during the recent years it has been developed in the tourism. There is a pharmacy, a gas station, supermarkets, butchers' shops, a bakery, tavernas & cafes and other shops.
