The village of Nerokourou is located east of the village of Mournies at the feet of the mountain Malaksa, just 4 kilometers from the city of Chania. The area of Nerokourou has got a great history since the archaeologists had discovered a Minoan Settlement and its findings are today located in the Archaeological Museum of Chania. In Nerokourou, you will also find the abandoned oil-press with the damaged facilities and the semi-circular arch of carved limestone. Additionally, there is a small plateau in the place of the old mosque, surrounded by buildings of typical local folk architecture of Nerokourou.
